The Fall Creek General Counsel serves as the principal legal advisor for Fall Creek and all its foreign subsidiaries and affiliates, sits on the Executive Team of directors, and reports to the CEO. The position leads our internal legal team as well as our global network of outside counsel. In our current and future growth trajectory, this position fully integrates legal leadership and services to support global operations, expansions, and the licensing of our proprietary genetics, facilitating the rollout of our varieties to customers everywhere.

What you'll do at Fall Creek

Serve as primary legal advisor to the Co-CEOs, Executive Team, Board of Directors and Shareholders. Share ownership in the design of corporate strategy and its implementation as member of Executive Team.

Responsible for delivery of legal outputs and services to the business, through leadership of the internal global team and our network of outside counsel.

Ensures the appropriate asset protection strategy and implementation for all of Fall Creek’s intellectual property.

Oversees the design and implementation of the legal architecture for Fall Creek’s commercialization models, expansion initiatives, and business development.

Responsible for the organizational integrity of all entities in the Fall Creek Group, including design of the corporate structure, the evaluation of new ventures and strategic relationships, formation of new entities, acquisitions, mergers, divestments, and other major strategic proposals or investments.

Oversees the skills, training, and performance management of the Legal Department and its personnel.

Lead by example; demonstrate professional and ethical business approaches and practices, espouse company values, and demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development.
What you bring to Fall Creek:

10+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney in a sophisticated environment such as a law firm, government agency, university, or business corporation, with exposure to international matters.

Experience in produce, agriculture, horticulture or related perishable industry supply chain, with familiarity with intellectual property matters.

Significant experience managing the work outcomes of attorneys and other professionals.

Proven success in providing legal guidance in the context of complex multi-national organizations and a commitment to the value of collaborative decision-making.

Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills, as well as sound judgment and personal and professional integrity. High emotional intelligence, must be comfortable with ambiguity, possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and operate with both humility and confidence.
